Turn the headline promise into specific terms
A guarantee can mean an additional visit, further treatment under certain conditions or another remedy described in the agreement. It does not automatically mean a refund, compensation for damage or indefinite cover. Ask the company to point to the exact written terms before you rely on the promise.
The directory helps you compare companies; it does not issue a guarantee for their work. Keep the provider's name, proposal and contact channel with the terms so you know who is responsible for responding.
Check six parts of the commitment
Mark missing information as a question to resolve. A sales phrase such as free follow-up is incomplete until you know what activates it and what the company will do.
| Term | Question |
|---|---|
| Covered problem | Which pest, property and treated areas are covered? |
| Period | When does cover begin and end, and is there a reporting deadline? |
| Remedy | Does the promise provide inspection, retreatment, a refund or something else? |
| Conditions | What preparation, repairs, access or monitoring duties must be met? |
| Exclusions | What new activity, untreated areas or other circumstances fall outside the terms? |
| Charges and renewal | Are revisits included, and does continued cover require a payment or renewal? |
Compare follow-up terms and prepare your questions

Ask what to report after the visit
Before the appointment ends, ask what observations are expected, what should prompt a call and which records are useful. Keep dates, locations and any safely obtained photographs. Follow the company's cleaning, access and monitoring instructions rather than adding an unplanned treatment that could interfere with the work.
For bed bugs, EPA specifically recommends professional monitoring and preparation for multiple visits. EPA's bed bug professional guidance. Other pests and methods need their own plan; do not reuse a bed bug timetable for every job.
Resolve an unanswered follow-up request
Contact the company through the channel in your agreement and identify the job, date and observation. Refer to the relevant term and ask for a written response explaining the proposed next step. Keep the original report and correspondence together if you later need help from a local consumer service or regulator.
If you are comparing proposals before booking, use the quote worksheet and the company-selection guide. For ongoing observation, check the separate pest monitoring offering and confirm whether treatment is included elsewhere in the agreement.
